Today marks the 2 year anny of grandpa Johns death.... So i am making up a page in my scrapbook of him with all my favorite pictures from the war.... I miss his war stories... how he would tell me about the big holes and the gunshots....so this is my most favorite pic for sure.... Here he is (the first on the left) in Italy.... Everyone is always asking what movie this was from... i tell them: This is no movie, but real life in World War II, This is my Grandpa standing tall and fighting for his country... I'll never forget him"

Hey everyone,
its been years (and I mean YEARS) since i've been on this DA account... I've been recently informed (as of today actually) that my WWII photo of my Grandpa John was featured in this article:

Thank you all for the comments and love on the photos... just for a quick reference on my Gpas info since I had many messages and comments about what infantry/rank he was...

My Grandpa served in the 361st infantry in the 91st division with Powder River (let em rip!). His rank was a sargent but was stripped that rank for reasons unknown to me :p lol. He received 3 purple hearts during WWII and served all over the world.

this is wonderful. I wish I had my grandfather's pictures. My grandfather was bombadere in WWII he had all sorts of pictures from that period but they were all stolen in the 1980's.
